Kindergarten Listening Center Supplementary Materials

$3.75
Description

This listening center resource for Kindergarten includes materials to help you teach students listening center procedures.

It also includes the “Reading Zoo” tracking system to help you and your students see their progress throughout the year!

This resource is for you if you want to:
- Teach your students to stay on task at the listening center
- Show students how to troubleshoot simple technology problems
- Help students track their progress with a simple, fun system that doesn’t take away time from listening to books
- Keep students engaged in the listening center throughout the school year

This resource may not be for you if:
- You are looking for lots of reading response activities or worksheets (At the listening center, my students just listen to books. I keep reading response as a separate center. If you are interested in reading response activities, please learn more about my reading response pack HERE!)

Here’s what’s included:
- 11 lesson plans to teach procedures, routines, and expectations for the listening center
- Printable materials for the “Reading Zoo” tracking system in which students color in a circle on a half-sheet for each text they listen to, and then color in an animal for every half-sheet they fill up

These materials can be used with any kind of listening center, as long as students have opportunities to listen to texts (on the computer, with a CD player or tape recorder, on a tablet, etc.). I’ve also included suggestions for setting up your listening center.

FAQ

My file isn’t printing correctly. How do I fix this?

The vast majority of printing problems can be fixed with the “Print as Image” solution in Adobe Reader! Learn more about how to do that here HERE.

Where can I learn more about your literacy products and how to use them?

We have a free catalog that walks you through my main resources. It can help you decide which resources are right for you and your students! You can grab the catalog HERE.

I teach in a split-grade class (i.e. 1st and 2nd). How should I select products for my students?

Alison always recommends getting the lower of the two grade levels. So if you teach in a 1st and 2nd grade class, get a 1st grade version. You can always differentiate in small groups or 1:1 to challenge your more advanced students!

I teach in Canada and am looking to buy some of your literacy products. How does the Canadian curriculum align to the U.S. curriculum?

Our Canadian customers tell us that it’s best to purchase one grade level down. If you teach first grade, for example, try a Kindergarten product. You can also check the preview file of any resource in our TpT store to see example lessons to help you make your decision!

These games are great! I love that there is an assessment with it so I can really see what skills my students need more practice with. Once they learn the games they are able to do them independently as well.

I used this resource when a couple of my students picked decoding multisyllabic words as their goal. This really allowed them to work on their goal independently! I loved that they were able to own their learning.

My students love these games for small groups, and once some of them are able to play them independently, they are able to teach others! Great academic skill review that is fun for them!
