If your Kindergarten, first grade, or second grade students struggle to answer writing prompts or write independently, these graphic organizers will give them the support they need! The graphic organizers are set up to help them choose an idea, add details, and organize their plan for writing. Narrative, informational, and opinion writing graphic organizers are included in this set.
The fact is, primary students often need a lot of help during writing time. And of course, it's impossible for you to help every single student when you have an entire class of children.
These graphic organizers will help you support all your students, especially your struggling writers. And they'll save you time, too - all of these graphic organizers are "print and use," so no prep whatsoever is required.
For each prompt / question, you get:
- Structured graphic organizer with vocabulary and pictures
- 2 types of writing paper with sentence frames (one with space for drawing a picture, one without space for drawing)

Write about a special celebration that you took part in.
Write about a great day you had at school.
Write about a time when you got hurt.
Write about your best day ever.
Write a fairy tale.
How-To, nonfiction, informational writing graphic organizers:
Write to teach the reader how to do something (general how-to writing).
Write to teach the reader how to cook something.
Write to teach the reader how to take care of a pet.
Write to teach the reader about an animal.
Write to teach the reader about a sport.
Opinion writing graphic organizers:
Write to explain what your favorite kind of weather is, and why it’s your favorite.
Write to explain what the best vacation would be, and why it would be the best.
Write to explain what the best animal is, and why.
Write a movie review.
Write a restaurant review.

I teach in a split-grade class (i.e. 1st and 2nd). How should I select products for my students?
Alison always recommends getting the lower of the two grade levels. So if you teach in a 1st and 2nd grade class, get a 1st grade version. You can always differentiate in small groups or 1:1 to challenge your more advanced students!
I teach in Canada and am looking to buy some of your literacy products. How does the Canadian curriculum align to the U.S. curriculum?
